New Delhi. An important review meeting was held between NITI Aayog and the Government of Mizoram to strengthen the tourism sector in Mizoram and to take concrete steps towards sustainable development. The meeting was attended by Shri Lalnghinglova Hmar, Minister of Tourism, Government of Mizoram, and Dr. V.K. Paul, Member, NITI Aayog.
During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on the potential, current challenges, and investment opportunities in the state’s tourism sector. Focusing particularly on the immense potential of eco-tourism, both sides stressed the need to develop a comprehensive roadmap for sustainable and inclusive development of this sector.
This partnership between NITI Aayog and the Government of Mizoram is part of a collaborative framework to assess, analyze, and expand the state’s tourism potential. It was also agreed that a stakeholder conference will be held in the near future to attract investment and strengthen tourism infrastructure.
This meeting is being considered an important step towards infusing new energy into the tourism sector of Mizoram and bringing the state into the category of major tourist destinations of the country.
